In 1960, Waidya Shiromani, Justice of the Peace, Dr. PJ Somaratne, started traditional medicine called Hela Wedakama in Wanamandawa Main Medical Centre and In the year 1988, his eldest son Waidya Keerthi Panditha, Hela Wed Isi Desha Keerthi Vidyapathi, Waidya Wisharada Panditha, Dr. Anura Kumara Somarathne initiated the practice of traditional medicine and modern Ayurvedic cultural techniques with Wanamandawe Ayuvedic medical center and the Ayurvedic drugs manufactory, and has been providing Ayurvedic medicines and Ayurvedic medical services to the people at all over the world.
